Hi,
Seeking help with some information regarding a great aunt. Her name is Jean/Jane Gemmell Russell and she was born in Cambuslang, Scotland to Helen and John Russell in 1887.Looking for details of a marriage and parental information on her spouse, William Cunningham. Also birth data of children Helen and John born some time before Jean and husband William emigrated to Australia.(I believe Helen was born about 1819 and John 1921).I would be most grateful for any assistance.I am also stuck for information regarding Hamilton Macallister, Jean Russell's grandfather who died in Bridgeton 1881 and was married to Jane Drew Gemmell. He died aged 38 and I was wondering about the circiumstances of his death and if there was a will and what the contents of that document revealed.Thanks.Erika.

Hi smiley 56
I have just seen on ancestry.com a tree for all the family you are looking for!! ;D ;D
Would be well worth a subscription as there is photos and everything of your family!! A photo of Jane Gemmell Russel and heaps of others.
Just type in Jane Drew Gemmell in the search bar - lucky you. You may have even found a cousin or twenty.
You could contact the person who owns the tree too ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D at least to make sure they have verified all their info.

Thankyou to both Janine and Carol for your imput. The person you located in Ancestry.com Janine would be me and I'm sorry, I should have mentioned my tree on that site and given a brief description of what I actually have thus far for that family. I was hoping however I might meet someone else with similar family links with the view of swappping additional information. I am still familiarising myself with all that is available online with regards to genealogy records and it certainly is a huge task.My favourites file is full of handy references to date and I just keep adding to it!! I have used Scotlands people before Carol but I wanted to exhaust all other avenues first and thought more experienced researchers might have a few clues about sites to access before I took the step of purchasing more credits.Once again, sincere thanks to both of you for your replies and advice.Cheers. Erika
