Hi,
I'm looking to find any additional information on Mary Wilson (nee Boyle), born in Armoy, Co. Antrim, Ireland about 1884, Sister of my grandmother, Annie Boyle, their Parents were Thomas & Sarah Boyle (nee Donaghy). Mary married Joseph Wilson 1907 in Greenock, settling there & had 6 children, William Wilson, Hannah Donnachie Wilson, Joseph Wilson, Thomas Wilson, Mary Boyle Wilson & John Wilson between 1908 & 1924. The 6 children are 1st cousins of my Mum Christina Cushnahan & visited her home in Armoy when Mum was a child. They lost contact when Mum emigrated, would like any information on Mum's Cousins or contact with their descendants if possible.
James.

Hi James
if you are trying to find living relatives in Greenock and the surrounding area
the best way would be to contact the Greenock Telegraph and ask them to publish
it in the telegraph most people in the area read the paper
you could email them here
editorial[at]greenocktelegraph.co.uk
Good luck
Elaine

hello James Cochnaghan,my mother was one of the six children you mentioned. My nameis Richard O'Donnell(son of Mary Boyle Wilson).Mum married my father William Gartshore O'Donnell in Greenock on 11/7/1945 at Saint Lawrence in Greenock. They had five children born Scotland then around 1956 they emmigrated to Wellington New Zealand where they had another three children.I have just started to try and trace my family and really having trouble with my grandmother.Spent most of this day searching for her and just as I was finishing up thought I would just post her name on the internet and came across your blog.Straight away I went the Rootchat that you mentioned so now hoping this novice researcher may get some help which I desperately need.Get in touch if you feel like it can not help you much as I have just started this researching.Yours sincerely,Richard O'Donnell

Hi Richard,
I'm very pleased to hear from you. Our Mothers were indeed 1st Cousins. Your Grandmother Mary used to travel to Armoy, Co.Antrim with your Mum and your Uncles William, Joseph, Thomas & John aswell as your Aunt Hannah for the school summer holidays until the WWII broke out. Unfortunately your Grandmother Mary Wilson (nee Boyle) died in 1945 and my Mum never saw her Wilson Cousins again. I have a photo of your Grandmother with my Grandparents in Armoy, Co. Antrim, N.Ireland I'd be happy to send you.
There's alot I would like to ask & tell you but I'd rather do this by e-mail if you don't mind.
My e-mail address is (*).
If this is not to your liking, let me know, we can communicate this way if you prefer,
All the best,
James.
