Hi,

Do you have her fathers name and are you sure it wasn't her grandfather that came from Ireland - the only reason I ask is that the only family called Burke in Torquay is a Richard (wife Emma) born Torquay around 1870 whose father (John) came from Dublin.

1901 census ref (taken 31st March 1901) RG13 piece 2059 folio 98 page 13
1881 census ref RG11 2168 72 18

Hello,

do you have the family in 1911 census- that would give you her parents names?
Am puzzled re her parents place of origin - you have said Killarny (Killarney??) and posted Kilkenny  :-\

best wishes
heywood

Junev' suggestion looks good but you really need to either the birth certificate or check 1911 for her parents - and of course the place.

the place is kilarney and it is listed under the kilkenny area on the listing which is what i went by.
i will have a look at the 1911 census but not sure i will find the right people

Hello,
the marriage certificate will also give you her father's name.

The famous place Killarney is in Kerry but often there are smaller villages etc in other counties.

It is a puzzle that you know where they came from but not  their names?
Are their any familiar names in that family in the censuses?

...

do you mean that Killarney is included on the list of Civil parishes on the top of the Kilkenny section ?  (see screenshot below)

This is just a list of parish names in a particular county. As heywood mentioned there are a number of places in Ireland named Killarney.... so it's worth checking that you have the right one

If it turns out that the family did come from Co. Kerry (or anywhere else other than Co. Kilkenny) I can move this thread to the correct board.
However, I really think you need to check some English records to pinpoint a location before starting to look for Irish information.
As has been suggested earlier, Florence's birth certificate or the 1911 census are probably what you need to check next rather than speculating.

Have moved your thread to Dublin board but John Burke would have been born well before the start of civil registration in Ireland since his son was born in 1870. You really do need to check through all possible English records before starting Irish research.
Richard Burke's birth certificate should list names of both parents, once you have their names and ages of children (from census records) you can start looking for their marriage in England (Free BMD) or Ireland (church records possibly).
