Title: FRANCIS ASHTON of Hull
Post by: mjames on Sunday 31 October 10 14:05 GMT (UK)
Any help with finding the following would be greatly appreciated.

1. Marriage of FRANCIS ASHTON and ROSANNA/ROSE HANNAH ? - only known children were Rosanna bur 1803 Drypool, Charles bpt 1805 and Francis bpt 1807 both at Holy Trinity, Hull.
Rosanna presumably died 1807 - 1813 as Francis remarried Ann Herbert, widow of Thomas Tye
on 5 Dec 1813 at Sculcoates.

2. Marriage of the above FRANCIS to REBECCA  ? (born abt 1796 Grimsby) - only known child William bpt 1825 Sutton in Holderness.

Francis appears on the 1841 census with his family in Witham, Sutton as a coal porter aged 75
born Yorkshire (but Rebecca also appears as born in Yorkshire) and he died in 1843.

Neither marriage took place in Lincolnshire or Nottinghamshire. I have searched the indexed marriages at Beverley and am now working my way through parishes near to Hull.

    Thank you.

Thanks. I already have those marriages. Presumably the marriage to Ann was his second one and that to Rosanna his first and to Rebecca his third, unless I find more earlier on!
