She died 23 May 1921 in Green Street Green, Stone, Southcote, Lanes E nd, Darenth, Kent
Submitted IGI entry shows her dead and buried all on the same day 23rd March 1921 which is why we advise people never to trust submitted entries - only extracted records.
The same submitted entry is the one showing her birth as 25th June in Fawkham rather than 25th April and shows her father as William 1ST although it seems to have the right mothers name
This is a reliable entry - it's an extracted record
Eliza Cooper Christening: 27 JUN 1830 Fawkham, Kent Father: William Cooper Mother: Amelia
Looks like whoever has submitted the IGI entry has muddled their months up
In 1841 the family were living in White House (doesn't say farm) which was in Fawkeham but whether she was actually born there is not known. Perhaps the family were living in Scudders Farm in 1830 and moved to White House before 1841

You can view the parish registers of Fawkham and other parishes online http://cityark.medway.gov.uk/
The 1830 baptism entry just says "of Fawkham" :)

Assuming that you are wanting to trace your ancestry back in time .................... can we start with the earliest known person that you have in your tree who is definitely related to you ie. about who you can say this is my great grandma or something? It's best to do it that way rather than getting side tracked by stuff other people have posted ;)

Good idea Casalguidi !
This last Eliza Cooper when about 18 did an embroidery sampler that hangs on my wall dated 1848.
On its back my wife's father has listed all 12 children and as many of their descendants that he could remember. This I have backed up from the IGI etc.
Some children call themselves Birch, others Burch.
This is the fault of their father who kept changing his mind as to whether he was Abert, or Walter, or Alfred Walter or Walter Alfred (and whether it was Birch or Burch)
Eliza of the Sampler was born 1835, chr 15 Feb 1835 Chipstead, Surrey and died Nov 1906 in Reigate District.
She married a man calling himself then Walter Alfred Burch at Croydon on 31 Aug 1856
Walter Alfred was born 5 Aug 1832 at Bacton Suffolk
My own researches have added:-
parents of Eliza of the Sampler are
John Cooper + Mary Selsby
Parents of Walter Albert Burch are
Alfred Birch + Mary Ann Quinton
Mary Selsby parents are
Henry Selsby + Hanna
possibly of Epsom, Surrey or some village in Epsom District
John Cooper parents are
Thomas Cooper + Mary Long
of Banstead Surrey, married there 4 Jan 1800
Mary was chr 23 Apr 1780 at Banstead Surrey
Yes, it would be great if we could get back farther
Many thanks

This is a long shot but I am also researching the Cooper family. Eliza Cooper was born in Australia to Thomas & Mary (nee Howlett) Cooper in 1847. All I know about Thomas is that he came from Kent. Does he fit into your family tree anywhere? :)
Eliza Cooper married William Smith who maybe related to famous aviator, Charles Kingsford Smith (according to my mother). William Smith may be the son of Richard Sheppard Smith who was the grandfather of Charles Kingsford Smith.

Good to hear from you Iforani.
My Elisa stitched into her sampler that she did it in 1848.
I think she was born 1835 at Chipstead, Surrey, just a few miles from the Surrey/Kent border.
So other relatives of hers may well have gone to Australia.
There is no Howlett in my tree
One Thomas Cooper b 1734 in Suffolk
Another b 1771 at Pennis Farm, Fawkham, Kent married Anne Parker in 1796 at Addington. He was the son of Thomas Cooper and Mary Cripps
Another b abt 1775 married Mary Long in 1800 at Banstead, Surrey

:) Thanks for that. Sounds like Thomas doesn't fit into your tree. :( He came from Kent somewhere, am not sure when though he emigrated to Australia. Thomas Cooper was a popular name back then. He would have been born in the early 1800's. Will keep looking.
The Smiths (who were related to aviator Charles Kingsford Smith) came also from Kent, so I thought possible that the Cooper and Smith families may have known each other/come over here at a similar time.
As I said, was a long shot. The Kingsford Smith ancestors were from Deal and Boughton Under Blean in Kent.

Hi
I descend from William Cooper and Mary Cripps. Circa 2000 was in touch with other descendants and have a lot of records re this family.

My Thomas Cooper doesn't belong in your family tree, Historyman. I wish he did. He is a mystery man!! Deb
