Is there any information to be had on my Gt Gt Grandfather, Owen Owens (Joiner) Iorwerth House, Eglwys Rhos

Hello
What information do you have about him already, e.g. birth year, who did he marry, etc?

The only info I have is what is on my grandparents Marriage Certificate. John Cristmas Owens, Iorwerth House, Eglwys Rhos, to Anne Jane Jones, 240 Carnarvon Road Bangor. Fathers names Owen Owens Joiner and William Jones Blacksmith.

OK, I've found the marriage :)
1900
Bangor volume 11b 711
You need to give all the information you know to help us find him! How old was John when he married?
If he was only 17, his birth was in 1883
Bangor volume 11b page 494

John was 39 when he got married

Was John's occupation a Mason?
I can see a John C Owens, Mason, age 39 with Anne J Owens age 30, in Llandudno area in 1901. It says he was born at Llanfairfechan, and she was a lodging house keeper, born Glan Conway Denbighshire.
Could these be the right family?

Yes he was a stone mason(master) and they lived in Oakhurst Trinity Square Llandudno,my father was born there.

I don't know if it's the right person but I found a John Owen, Mason, born Llanfairfechan, in 1881 census. He was lodging with Hugh Hughes, a Mason at 47 Well St, Bangor. However, he was 30 years old and single. :-\
I'm sorry but I can't find John with his father Owen.....

Thanks for your help, I'll carry on searching through old papers.

On the 1881 census there is a joiner called Owen Owens living at 6 Madryn Cottages, Aber which ties in with the address from another thread of yours (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,494034.0.html).
Aber is short for Abergwyngregyn and is near Llanfairfechan. Here it is on google maps (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&expIds=17259,26473,27463,27690,27698,27745,27818&xhr=t&q=abergwyngregyn&cp=6&safe=off&wrapid=tljp1290533219781010&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl).

On the 1871 census the same Owen Owens and his family are living at 1 Madryn cottages, Aber and he has a son called John C. Owens, aged 10.

That info sounds right, as his son was 39 when he was married in 1900.
Thanks very much
