Hello,
Could someone please tell me what Newspapers were being published in the Fife area in the 1800'S and if they contained any Birth Death or Marriage Notices? And if so, is there anywhere these can be viewed on line, the newspaper or an index?
Also, was it common to have a list in the newspaper for those families immigrating to other countries as some newspapers do for those arriving?
Cheers

Hi masont78
The fife free press, and the leven mail, start from about 1830 in the local library. At present not available online. BMD's are occassionally mentioned in the earlier copies of the newspapers, but these are normally by the better off. The exceptions being if you died in unusual circomstances then it would normally be a couple of lines within the paper sometimes without the mention of a name.
Is there anyone or anything in particular you were looking for and do you have a name and a rough date?
