Title: Tapatalk - iPhone Forum App
Post by: Toby Joiner-Brown on Tuesday 19 October 10 10:28 BST (UK)
Hello,

I am only new to the forum so please forgive me if I am about to request something that people feel is not wanted here.  It would be lovely if the administrators here might take a look at Tapatalk, the iPhone, iPad and Android forum application.  To enable this forum I believe it just requires the addition of a small piece of code - information is all available at http://www.tapatalk.com/.  I am in no way affiliated with this company, but I do think it would be a fantastic advancement to be able to view and take part in Rootschat on the go.  The interface is excellent and incredibly user friendly.

Just a thought.

Best regards,

Toby

Just been reading a little about Tapatalk and just a heads up, for every post a subscriber makes with the app a little bit of code adds a line to the bottom of the post.  Eg. "Sent from an iPhone using Tapatalk".

The app has taken a lot of criticism on some forums (or is that forae?), and I guess this should be taken into account with the audience here.  I personally didn't notice it, but a lot of people get very worked up about it.

I leave it to the powers that be!!

Kind regards.

Tapatalk is now available on android as well as iphone. I use it on my samsung galaxy regularly for another forum I'm a member of and I've not had any problems.

I would be very happy to be able to access this forum on there too. Are there any plans to do this?

Hiya,

Thanks for your suggestion.  :)

We did look into, however we developed this site to be viewable on mobile and tablet devices which autodetects many of these devices. This is without users having to pay for another company's app.

Currently there are no plans to use this third-party software, however we are reviewing our mobile strategy. We only launched the upgraded site less than a month ago, so it's early days!  ;)

Regards,
Trystan
