Title: BATT's of Collingbourne Ducis
Post by: TraceyD on Sunday 17 October 10 18:21 BST (UK)
Is anyone else researching the Batt's of Wiltshire?

I am currently unable to get beyond John Batt who married Elizabeth Dickman on the 18th December 1665 in Collingbourne Ducis.  They had four children that I am aware of; Mary (1666), John (1669), Susannah (1672-1675) and William (1682).

If anyone can help on John and Elizabeth's past it would be much appreciated.

Best regards
Tracey

Phillimore's Wiltshire Marriage Registers Volume 12 lists John Batt as junior so presumably John's father was also a John.

Coincidentally in December 1672 there is a marriage of an Edward Earl to a Elizabeth Batt.

Thanks for the information West.

Since my original posting I found my John Batt christened in Salisbury in 1638 parents were Christopher Batt and Anne Westfield.

In google books if you put Batts and Collingbourne Ducis, the Collectanea Topographica mentions several Batts. There is some interesting information about C/D as well.
