I have been trying to locate Wilson Avenue on a Chicago map. Would anyone know if this Avenue has been renamed?
Thank you.

Maybe someone familiar with Chicago will know off-hand, but if not, you might want to check out this site: http://stevemorse.org/census/changes.html

Many thanks Shellyesq for the website.

Hello! Current Google maps indicate there is still a Wilson Avenue in Chicago......Pat

In addition to Shelly's suggestion, if the address came from a census form, you could try searching for neighbouring roads, to see if they can be found on a map.
A couple of weeks ago, I was searching for an address (in a different city), couldn't locate the address, and by searching neighbouring roads, found that out that a highway had been built where the road once was. (I hope that makes sense.) :-\

Wilson Ave is still there.

Many thanks everyone for all your help. I have just tossed aside the paper map ;)

I am going to be in the city on Sunday, anything you need in that area?

Why I was asking about Wilson Avenue, Chicago, it's where my grand uncle was found in 1937. He was fishing on Lake Michigan and several days later he was recovered from the lake at Wilson Avenue beach.
He emigrated from Ireland just several years earlier and his wife was pregnant with their only child ... it was tragic news to his family in Ireland at that time.

Sorry to hear that! I know exactly where that area is too. Unfortunately things like that still happen on Lake Michigan.
