I am interested to find out who were the parents of Jared Watson. The only information I have on Jared are as follows:
Born C1823 Rothbury, Nothumberland.
Died before 1920.
Occupation railway engine fitter (G.E.R)
Married Ellen Hillyard from Ipswich, Suffolk
If anyone could help it would be hugely appreciated.

You guys are great. How do you get your hands on this information???
Any news on Jared's Mother?

No its a bit harder to find the mother, looking now ,for some more clues
possibly this little family ,need investigating ,I have nothing to prove these are his parents unless a christening record turns up,and I am sure a lot of Watsons were farm servants, the naming pattern here is the same as Jareds family 1871,still doesnt prove anything but worth looking around for some thing more concrete,

Census ref 2418-343-10
Jared occ = "engine wright" like a "fitter" ?
Wife Fanny and her sister Ann Rutherford were born at Heighley Gates, between High and Low Heighley ( Alternative names Highlaws) close to where the parishes of Mitford and Hebburn/Hebron bordered.

There is an IGI entry for William Watson for 14 Aug 1791 s/o Michael Watson and Elizabeth. I checked with my transcript and no other infomation
I could not find a Margaret Crosier in Edlingham for the right time frame but there were Croziers/Crosiers.
The daughter Eleanor was baptised Felton 17 June 1821 Eleanor Elizabeth Watson d/o William and Margaret, labourer, of Eshott East house.
A son George Watson was baptised Felton 3 Oct 1819 s/o William and Margaret, Eshott East House, labourer
A son William Watson was baptised Hartburn 12 Jan 1817 son of William Watson and Margaret Crozier of Wallington New House, labourer
I couldn't find a brother John but the fact that he was born Wallington and so was his brother William it looks like the same family.
