Title: Mary Ann Siggie
Post by: nannienz on Tuesday 12 October 10 16:17 BST (UK)
I am trying to find the parents of Mary Ann Siggie born on August 4th 1901.  I know she lived in Holbeach.  She later married Walter Piggott who changed his name to Hicks.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Free BMD has the listed registration as follows

Mary Ann Siggie bn Sep Q 1901 Holbeach 7a 408.

Purchasing the birth cert should certainly tell you the mothers name and possibly the fathers as well.

Another Free BMD result for you

This looks like your Marys mothers birth

Mary Elizabeth Siggie

Holbeach Births 1884 June Q 7a 412

Its looking increasingly likely that your Mary Ann could well have been born out of wedlock and her birth cert may well not carry the fathers name.

if you search the 1911 census index (free) there is a Mary Ann Siggie with mary Elizabeth Young and John William Young

so John William Young is possibly her stepfather
