Hi, Does anyone know if there are directories online for London around 1867? I have found a burial at Highgate cemetery for my Great x 4 grandfather William Daniels and the FOHC said the Right of Burial was purchased by:
William Daniels, 1 St Georges Villas, Tuffnell Park.
Now this cant be the William Daniels who was buried as the plot was bought just 4 days before he died and he wasn't living at that address at the time.
I am thinking this could be the grandson of his, as he was also called William, but I have never found him on a census apart from living with his stepmother Temperance in 1851 and a birthplace of London. (His father also William had died by 1867)
Ideally, I would like to find his occupation so I can try and track him down in 1861/71 as there doesnt seem to be any trace of him in St Georges Villas
Thanks :)

Hi Justine
Do you think it not possible for this burial plot to have been purchased 4 days before the death of William, I am intrigued as to why you think it not possible, or is it me ?
Where was he living in 1851?

Could you supply a little more info?
What year was William Daniels born?
What area of London was he living in in 1851?
Do you know what occupation his father had...sometimes son's follow their father's line of work?
Did he have any siblings or other family members that he might have lived with?

There is a marriage dated Dec 25th 1881 in Battersey between Temperance Elizabeth Daniels aged 22 (born approx 1860) and Edward Clements. She names her father as William Daniels - a coal dealer.
Could this be a relation? Is it possible that your William Daniels married by 1860 approx and had a child named after his step-mother? Just a thought.
