Title: Esslemont MI lookup please!

Hi there,

I have many, many Esslemonts in my tree and was hoping someone might be able to help me find burial info/grave pictures/info of them.

Apparently quite a few of them are buried in Tyrie Cemetry??

I have an Adam Esslemont (born 1757) - married to a Margaret Davidson

and their son James Esslemont( born about 1780) and his wife Barbara Barron.

And their son Andrew Esslemont (born about 1815) - married to an Isabella Marr and a Christina Birnie

Anyone able to help?

Hi, from the 5 Esslemont headstones in Tyrie graveyard there's only 1 that relates to the folk you mentioned;

"Erected in memory of JAMES ESSLEMONT late crofter Wandford, Tyrie d.11 Nov 1846 aged 66 and his wife BARBARA BARRON d.20 Mar.1851 aged 82."

I'm wondering if Barbara's age is correct. Was there a big age difference between them?
Should it perhaps read 52?

Hello,

My mothers side comes down via 'your' Andrew Esslemont who died on March 24th 1897.   Died in Maud Poorhouse, Maud. New Deer.

You'll find the Esslemont website has the correct d.o.d, but incorrect full place of death.  The website has quite a few old photos of people and gravestones of Esslement interest.

Mary Esslemont  died:9th April 1928, was married to my great granda Thomas Easton. I would post pix that I have if I could work out how. (Not used to Rootschat)

Not sure if you are still interested or have completed your family tree but I am the great x 5 grand daughter of Adam & Margaret Davidson on my mother’s side.

I traced my family tree quite a few years ago but have revisited it again to fill in some blanks.

I meant to say Adam Esslemont & Margaret Davidson are my great x 5 grand parents x
