Title: Preston Cemetery
Post by: Avril3 on Monday 11 October 10 00:09 BST (UK)
Hi, hope you can help.
I have copies of burial records (with plot numbers) for a number of ancestors who were buried in Preston Cemetery.  I would like to go and try to find the graves, and I am wondering if anyone knows if there is a plan available to help me find them, as this would save me so much time.
 ???
Cheers
Avril

Go to

Scroll down the photos and there is a map of the cemetary

Click on it to open it and then click again to enlarge it - have to admit it's not a brilliant map

Hello ,
If you have  the plot number and details ,the ladies in the office will mark a little map for you,I have all ways found them very helpfull ,it is well kept, I was there two weeks ago and all the grass had been cut ,in the older parts of the cemetry,

Thanks, Carole and Gillian.
When you say "the ladies in the office", which office do you mean?  Yes, I do have the plot numbers from the burial records, found on the microfilms at Tyne and Wear Archives.
Cheers

Sorry Avril ,
the office at the main gates at Preston cemetry ,they do close for lunch and I am not quite sure what time that is,I know they were having some renovations done in there so it may be worth ringing up  before you set of.Just to be on the safe side.
Good luck Gillian
