Hi James
There's nothing obvious showing on freebmd or the 1891 census but there are entries where the surname is spelt EllioTT
What's the source of your information?

Hi Dawn
On the marriage cert of Joseph Elliot (23) & Edith Baldock (21) dated 13/2/1910, the father was Joseph Elliot, in freeBMD on Ancestry it has three of there children as Elliott and four as Elliot. So it could be either way.
I like the 1891 census that Isobel has found, but where do the two Appleton Step Daughters fit in if Amelia was a Long and not a Appleton, unless it's her second marriage?
One T or two, they don't make it easy. Must upgrade my Ancestry membership so that I can see the London Parish records?
Thanks for your help

Do you think Amelia was another Mary Ann Cotton, shes going through husbands like her :o :o

Hi
As far as its possible to tell at this point Amelia Mary nee Malthouse may only have had two husbands (two men she lived with), one she married in 1876 (George Appleton) and the other in 1899 (the possibility is that Henry/Harry Trigg and Henry/Harry Elliott could be the same man).
There is a death registration for a possible Amelia M Trigg aged 87 in 1944 (Surrey Mid East registration district) which could be a match.
The records so far far show a similarity between Elliott and Trigg though the marriage entry of deceased in 1910 might be evidence there were two men.
1891 census Harry Elliott aged 36 General Labourer born Wandsworth (Amelia aged 36, in 1881 aged 25)
1901 census Harry Trigg aged 30 General Labourer born Wandsworth (Amelia aged 40)
1910 marriage of Joseph, father Henry Elliot deceased painter - the same occupation as Joseph (deceased here may be a mistake or indicate estrangement)
1911 census Henry Trigg aged 51 (occupation unknown as yet) born Wandsworth (Amelia aged 53)
