Do you have any further details on which to search? Do you know when they died?so that we can look up census returns and then track backwards or do you have them already on the censuses?? Is Mary just Mary or does she have a middle name? The only Mary Cammock coming up around that time was born in Co Durham not Lincoln? Where did you get the dates from? sorry lots of questions but not an answer yet.

Hi Shirley, are you certain of the spelling CAMMOCK for Mary as the only birth I could find was for a CAMMACK in June 1869 Caistor 7a 607, for a Mary Elizabeth
This is her on the 1871:-
John Cammack 38 b Bishop Norton
Harriett 31 b Bliton
Sarah A 3 b Bishop Norton
Mary E 2 b Bishop Norton
Residing Vicarage Bishop Norton
RG10/3424/46/9

The marriage reg is transcribed as (freeBMD)
Mary Elizabeth Cammack
Edward James Walsh
mar qtr 1890
Lincoln
7a 592
in 1891 census
Edward is age 34 b. Chatham Kent
Mary is age 31 b. Atterby Lincs
daughter Violet is 1mth b Lincoln
RG12 2595 69 4
so this would give Mary a birth year c 1860 -not 1869????

hi sorry yes it is cammack , thats the right family , but cant find marraige to edward thanks
-
hi thanks i was told eward was born in doncaster could this be write i dont know . thanks
-
hi mary elizabeth could have been marriad first to a james seaton before edward thanks
-
Edward is entered in 1891 as b Chatham Kent
If 1891 is a mistranscription of Mary's age and she was b c 1869 then there are 2 Mary Elizabeth's born abt same time in Lincs.
I don't know if she is the one from Bishops Norton -father John
judging by the p.o.b. given in 1891 census then maybe her father is William
You really need the marriage certificate -which would give both father's names and occupations -and ages given for bride and groom
Witnesses are sometimes relatives
To go back on what little information you have without any documentation would be nothing more than a guess -and could lead you to follow an incorrect line
The marriage cert would tell whether they were bachelor and spinster or whether they had been previoudsly married

Just had another loook at p.o.b. in 1891 -Ithink it is Atterby Lincs

the birth reg found for you was Caistor reg district
I think the best certificate to get at the moment would be the marriage cert.
You can send through the GRO

WELSH Edward James Lincoln 7a 592
-
hi i dont know what to think as the name is walsh as my husband huuuuuuuuum
-
hi it looks like this is a mistake on the reg walsh not welsh is this possible thanks
-
hi there thankyou so much to every one for all your help the mystery goes on shirley byyy
-
If you are convinced that walsh /welsh/ married cammack/cammick/cammock on that date, then that entry will be the correct one. Dont get too worried about the spellings IF all the rest fits - one of our branches is Duxfield, but the different spellings - including Ducksfield - several times across the GRO, the local registry offices and the census returns are very variable!Add in the transcriptions by well knwon genealogy sites and the possibilities are endless. Who knows which is the correct spelling from history!
