Searching for Ann aka Kate Ann Gillies born in Glasgow, I got the wrong certificate off Scotlands People. Available in soft copy if you would like it:

i am not directly related. Link is at parents of Margaret and her sister Helen (my link), namely Charles Winslow and Catherine McKearney (many spellings seen on this surname)

Mmm, there are an awful lot of Gillies!  I finally found my Kate Ann Gillies - she was illegitimate so her birth is registered under her mother's name, the census gives her father's name, her marriage certificate gives both and she is variously known through all of them as Kate, Ann, Annie or Kate Ann.  All v confusing!
