Title: Joseph DOUBLE - Tasmania
Post by: MaxD on Thursday 07 October 10 16:44 BST (UK)
Not a direct ancestor of mine but while looking at my own Joseph Double ancestor I came across convict and transportation (1841/42) records for Joseph Double born 1809/10 in Suffolk. Wondered whether anyone was interested in being pointed towards the detail?  MaxD

I think this Joseph Double is possibly the one married to Sarah King - born in Raydon, Suffolk in 1809.

Yes Joanne, that's him.  What I was doing was offering to share the research I had done on him with anyone who might be interested.  I had to do it because my ancestor is also Joseph Double, also born 1809, also in Raydon and I needed to be able to distinguish between the two.  (As it happens, my Joseph was also transported, in 1840, but to Bermuda - lawless lot these early Doubles).
