My GGG Grandfather William Pickard was born in 1804 in Chapeltown,Leeds. I do not know the names of his parents. Where would he have been baptised. He married Mary Barker on the 12 Jun 1826 in Bradford.
Any help would be greatfully received

Hi,
There's this possible baptism
William Pickard, born 9/2/1804, baptised 8/4/1804 at Chapel Allerton, Leeds, father William.
-
And possible siblings
Ann Pickard born 29/9/1810, baptised 10/3/1811 at Chapel Allerton, parents: William Pickard and Ann Mawson.
Jane Pickard born 3/9/1807, baptised 25/10/1807 at Chapel Allerton, died 15/12/1811, parents: William Pickard and Ann Scarborough.
It is possible Ann Pickard nee Mawson died pre 1811, and William then married Ann Scarborough.
Or maybe not, here's a marriage: William Pickard to Ann Scarborough 31/7/1803 at Calverley, Yorks.
How do you know William (1804) was born in Chapeltown?

Hi Libby9
I found William's place of birth on the 1851 & 1861 census.
I think you have just helped me break a brick wall THANK YOU.
William's first born was named Mawson.

Michelle,
I don't imagine many children were named Mawson Pickard; so I'd say you've definitely found your ancestors.
That's great, I'm pleased for you, and you are welcome.
Happy hunting.

Michelle, there are two Chapeltown's in Leeds.
1. is in Leeds 7 and close to Chapel Allerton, and 2. in Pudsey not far from Calverley.
