Hi  :)

I would like to get  my GG Grandfathers  death certificate in Devon england,

hi details are

George SMYTH
Born 1802 Marwood Devon and died 1857 Pilton Barnstaple.

Parents John SMYTH and Johanna HEALE

Wife Ann Blackmore


How do i go about getting a death certificate. ?   

I found a newspaper article for a Death of A George SMYTH who drowned in Pilton the same year and wondering now if this is him.

is there  a site on the net for BMD's that you can check and order from ?

I want the actual death certificate not just like on a site that has date etc.

You can order the certificate online from the General Registration Office.

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

There is the following death

George Smyth death registered Sept Qtr 1857 Barnstaple Registration District Vol 5b Page 304

The cost is 9.25 GBP
