Title: Christmas Is Coming
Post by: Plummiegirl on Thursday 30 September 10 13:11 BST (UK)
I often suggest this to those who query which site to subscribe to

When your family ask what you want tell them to all chip in and pay for either a 6 or 12 month sub as a gift, more useful to us family historians than soap or slippers.

If they do not ask drop some heavy hints

And do not forget your birthday.

This way if you find you would really like to have subs to more than 1 site (ie Ancestry or FindMyPast) then you can pay for one and the family can pay for the other.  Result ;)

Hi There....

Have to agree.....

I have been doing this since I retired.

My husband willingly buy's me anything I need , to do with genealogy.
Wise man. He knows , that it will .

a) Keep me happy, therefore, easier to live with.
b) Keep my brain cells working
c)Keep me in my office , out of his way
d) Have something to talk about, when we finally meet up in the evening !!

Good Idea

I work in a supermarket and this week we put all of our Christmas stock on show, decorations, cards etc. Have to look at it for 3 months now!

You can tell Christmas is coming, when Woolworths start selling Easter eggs.
Sadly Woolworths are no longer with us, but I'm sure some of us have happy memories of them, that are now becoming part of our family histories.

Tesco's have their christmas advert out and they admit that "Christmas starts early at Tesco's"

I also noticed our local Co-op shop had Halloween items on sale in September  ???
