Hi
My Grandad was George Watson, son of William Watson (of Weston) & Lucy Bardle (Great Munden.). His Grandparents were William Watson of Weston who married Kate Charter of Ashwell (no dates sorry). In the 1901 census William & Kate, along with sons William, George, Joseph and daughters Martha & Florence are living at Ironside Farm, Shephall, Weston and the family are listed as Ag Labs,Stockmen or ploughman. The girls are scholars.
Don't know if this is of any help, as had been said Watson is a very popular name (as I well know and I have Smith in the otherside :o)
Cheers
Alison

Hi Trish,
Thanks for your replies. It wasn't actually me looking for info, I was responding, but thank you anyway as the info you have provided will help me immensely.
I already have the marriage certificate for William Watson and Kate Charter and Williams father is Joseph Watson who is listed as a carpenter. It would appear that what you have listed could well be part of my extended family. My mum always said there was someone, a great uncle or something, who was well off. Could be right if they were born in Hampstead/ Hanover Square.
Will dig a bit deeper and see what I can find.
Cheers

Hi again,
It looks like the two families could be related as there is a Joshua aged 2 in the 1841 census brother to Joseph!!

Ooops my mistake Alison.
I am not sure about extended Family to me it appears to be your Joseph ???
-
I am getting confused as too whose Family it is :-[
Re William born c 1851 Married to Kate;
1881/1901 he is born Weston, Herts
1891 he is born Middlesex, London and living in Weston.
1871 with Mother Mary Ann and Sister Mary Ann in Weston, born London
1861 with them again and born St George, Middlesex
1851 with Joseph, a Carpenter and Mother Mary Ann

Hi. I have Joesph Watson on my tree. He is a carpenter and married Mary Ann Lloyd in 1848.
His daughter Mary Ann had a child Charles Watson in 1871.
All the Watson's in Weston are descended from a William who married Judith circa 1600.
I was just wondering if anybody had any additional inforamtion on the family. They were at one time owners of Land. :D

Hi matgeorges,
Do you have pedigree for this William Watson going back farther than Edward Watson father of the Edward Watson b. 1676? Actually I would be interested to get any pedigree for William Watson and wife Sarah (Kent?) beyond what is already set forth in the thread here.
Thanks, Chris
