Hello,
researching John Harris LANGDON, d 1853, Newport.
1851 census - Stow Hill, aged 73.
Recorded as an architect of churches in Monmouthshire and other notable buildings.
Does anyone know where I can go for records, plans or archived materials that can confirm his business or his family life in the area?
Thank you,
Aunt Harriet....

Thanks Steve,
Every little bit helps and it confirms him as operating a business including other enterprises. It's all a jigsaw and any new piece is welcome.

Thank you Lynne,
found him there as surveyor and architect of
LLANDEVAUD, St. Peter (1842-1843) Monmouthshire
NEWPORT, Holy Trinity, Pillgwenlly (1851-1853) Monmouthshire
and there is a reference for him in
H.M. Colvin, A Biographical dictionary of British architects 1600-1840 (1995)
I also understand he was architect of the Newport Barracks. If anyone can confirm that I would be really grateful.
