Hi I am researching the COPELAND family they lived in Ayr.
John & Isabella (nee Walker) Copeland came from Down Ireland
to Ayr about 1853-56 They were married 20 Jan 1851 Holy Trinity Church of Ireland at Seapatrick Banbridge, I am unable to find any further info from Ireland except their parents. John's Parents were James Copeland & Martha Cowan. Isabella's parents were Andrew Walker & Isabella Lyons. I have found all the births of the children and most of the marriages and deaths.
ANDREW COPELAND Born cir 1852 Down Ireland died 1883 he married Margaret Harrison 13 Aug 1875 Ayr
Children: Isabella Walker Copeland Born 27 Nov 1875 Ayr
               Married: James Scullion 1899 Wallacetown, Ayr

               Andrew Copeland Born 9 Jan 1881
               Married: Margaret Easton McCartney 1904 Ayr

               Annie Mathieson Copeland Born cir 1884
               Married: Thomas Paterson 1908 Ayr

JAMES COPELAND Born 13 Mar 1856 Maybole Ayr
                Married: Elizabeth McKechnie 1891 Newton Ayr
Unable to find anything further on James

JOHN COPELAND Born 10 Oct 1858 Newton, Ayr Died 1913
                 Married: Annie McCall Shuttleton 1882 St Quivox, Ayr
John is my maternal g grandfather and I have most of the information on his family.

JOSEPH COPELAND Born 20 Jul 1861 Ayr
                Married: Mary Josephine Brien 1887 Ayr

SAMUEL COPELAND Born 1 Sep 1867 Ayr, died 1905 Ayr
                Married: Janet Muir 1889 Paisley Renfrew

WILLIAM COPELAND Born 31 Dec 1869
                 Married: Jessie McKechnie 1896 Newton, Ayr

HENRY WILSON COPELAND Born 25 Feb 1872, died 1928 Glasgow.
                  Married:1. Susan Jackson 1895 Glasgow
                               2. Mary Taylor 1916 Glasgow.

RICHARD COPELAND born 21 Feb 1874 Ayr.
Unable to find anything further on Richard.

Two other children Martha and Margaret died when they were children.
I would be grateful for any information or anyone who has connections to any of these families.

Hi Hineahua,
I,m following the Scullion line which includes James Scullion & Isabella Walker Copeland.  I have their dates of death also i have 4 children for them and 2 of their marriages. Have you got this information, if not i can send it to you. Would you want the information on James Scullions parents and siblings.

I am waiting for Scotland to release 1911 census and then maybe I will be able to carry on and find some of the missing information.

I am the grand daughter of Andrew Copeland and Margaret McCartney. They moved from Ayr to Glasgow (possibly also in Lanarkshire) and had 8 children, not all survived.
My father was there youngest child, Thomas Thornton born 31 May 1917

Andrew had his own roofing business.
