Darren Davies of Christchurch. ddavies
My friend has a book with Morgan Davies , then underneath Morgan Davies Ridgeway, inside the cover. There is informaion in it from Christchurch, and we would like to place it back with the correct family.

The thing is on the NZSG Index CD a researcher has donated awhole lot of certificates for events around 1860s
I'll put a note the NZSG list if you like to see if they spot it

G'day and thanks for getting in touch. It isn't a book of certificates, it is personal to the Davies family. I can only say that is a book owned by the Davies family of long ago. I want to make sure that the correct family receives it back. they will be over the moon if they can give us the correct identifying information, then we will be more than happy to make sure it gets back to them.

Sorry misunderstanding, what I meant is that there are researchersfor a Morgan Davies as some are or have been NZSG members.
When you are a member you donate certificates you have to a members collection. i was just trying to confirm whether it would have been this pre 1900 period and that it wasn't a newer book

This thread is super interesting. I am so sorry that I have not been on this site for too long. Is there any chance that this information is still available as I am definitely still wanting to track down how my Morgan Davies got to NZ and where in Wales he came from.

In case we can help, whayt can you tell us about your Morgan Davies? Date and place of birth, date of likely emigration, any marriage, occupation etc.)
I have just searched Papers Past for 'morgan davies' (1855-1880) and found twenty one articles.

Not sure if you are aware of the contents of the "trees" published at the ancestry.com website for Morgan DAVIS and his wife Emma North MUMFORD ??
(The names of the supposed parents of Morgan DAVIS, along with his birthplace, are given in at least one of the trees.)
