Trying to find out what ships left St john on the first week Jan 1917 and arrived Liverpool Feb 16 1917, Would like to have passenger list as well as crew members. Looking for my father who at the time I believe worked for Gaston Williams & Wigmore Ltd. Montreal or London his occupation was a motor engineer for the company. The ship may have been owned by the co. The Lord line? Thanks

Hi Duckcarver,
What you can do is go to the FindMyPast site: http://www.findmypast.co.uk/migration.jsp and do a search (free part) for your father. Once you find out which ship he was on, you can go to Archives of Canada site: http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/lac-bac/search-recherche/anc.php?Language=eng and do a search for the actual image (for free). I think you can do a search by ship owner as well, but not positive. Hope this helps,
JDC

Thanks for your response, Will work on these leads and see what happens. My dad dint leave much to go on he hardly ever spoke of his past so from 1886 to 1917 he don't ex-hist, He only told us he was an orphan but where and for how long nothing. When he left St John in 1917 he was required to fill out a I.D booklet on his arrival in England giving his place of birth as Bangor Pinobscot county Maine fathers name John deceased. I lived and worked in Maine for four years and searched records and asked questions all over the state but with no results. My reason for all this above info is in case someone opens this sight it may help. He may in his youth served as a cabin boy aboard ships for he knew the sea coast and ports from N.Y to Novascotia and ships rigging from stem to stern. Thanks again

Hi Duckcarver,
Could you give us your father's name please. I could search the UK Incoming Passenger Lists if I had a name.
Thanks.

Thanks, Genie. That's twice in one day I've responded to threads that already have other active threads going. I must remember to do a search before I jump in with an offer to help....LOL!!

Hi Susan,
I do that, often ;D
I figured the more we know, the more we may be able to help.
Good luck, Dick.
