Hi IAA

It is hard for us to help you in general searches on line for this period that you are in, given that due to privacy issues, records become harder to find/view on line unfortunately.

Someone may recognise these names from their own lines which would be great  :)

Have you tried doing some searches on Scotlands People to see what records there are to be found with these names?

Thank you for your reply.  I have tried Scotlands People but could not find a marrige or death for Andrew.  I also checked WW2 Records to see if he was a casualty but could not find him there.  Perhaps he emigrated.  I will try Ancestory.com.  Once again thanks for your help.

Hi Irene

One possibility to also consider in your searches given the dates on everything. Andrew may have gone by the surname of M(a)cDonald given the timings and events perhaps.

Hi

I think I have  found him on Ancestry emigrating to the US.  I am going to purchase credits to download the entry.  I also posted on another news group and had a reply stating that the Ancestry entry has Andrews mother and step father listed.

Many thanks for your help.

Irene, I just thought to post on here what I have sent you in case anyone is researching this family in the future. Elizabeth Clark MacDonald looks to have joined her husband with her children in New York in 1929. Likely entry for the family on the 1930 US census in Newark, Essex, New Jersey:

Robert Macdonald 39
Elizabeth Macdonald 38
Andrew Macdonald 19
Elizabeth Macdonald 17
Robert Macdonald 15
Grace Macdonald 13
David Macdonald 11
Agnes Macdonald 8
John Macdonald 5

All the children showing as born in Broxburn, West Lothian or Edinburgh (Grace).
