Chester History & Heritage Centre is now reopen after lighting refurbs!! You can now see the really old ceiling whilst searching for your family tree.

I have really good recollection of a school trip there - where we did little brass rubbings (still have one of them too) , and bought a replica roman coin there (of course at that age I thought they were genuine - I think I swapped it for a pack of Trump Cards).

You can still do brass rubbings there ;D- as well as buying souvenirs from the shop or looking at local parish registers or the GRO!
They've recently extended their opening hours too from 10am-4pm, Monday - Friday.
