Robert.
There is a transcript of the Marriage which states that Christopher Spratt married Mary Bradney on 24/2/1783 at Gloucester St Nicholas. Christopher was from the parish of St Micheal and Mary was from St Nicholas parish. No info relating to parents names but witness are Thomas Hill and Henry Shanks, both sign and marriage is by licence, Minister M Barry.
Hope this helps.

Thank you very very much, thats very helpfull. My next search is for the birth of Christopher, we believe he was born about 1753 in Gloucestershire, but we have found no trace of a birth, yet!
Thanks again Rob

Each,
As Genuki advises, " . . . . make sure you keep enough reference material to enable you to walk back into the same place five years later, . . . . and find the reference again. . . . " so I wonder where West's reported transcript is to be found. There must be more researchers on the forum who would like to know.
Please always give sources because in years to come saying to another researcher, "somebody told me" will be as good as an IGI submitted entry and we all know how unacceptable they can be!!

I would guess it's from www.forest-of-dean.net - I found the same transcript in the Miscellaneous section.

Hal,
Same message but not transcript? I found no such transcript.

Chas,
I'm not sure what you mean in your last post. I was going to post that I'd found the transcript on www.forest-of-dean.net until I saw that Hal had beaten me to it.
