I wonder if this is THE White House, or just A White House?

Thank you for that Jill

It was definitely THE White House Barlborough

The Father  on the Birth certificate was born at Southgate House Clowne,  in 1889.
Southgate House is now a Hotel next to Van Dyke Nurseries.
Prior to the Hotel opening it seems the facade was painted white which didn't go down well with the locals,

Thanks again

Pam

I know of a White House in Barlborough and even have a picture of it, taken about the time you mention.

It was rendered at that time but now it's back to stone.

I'm looking to buy it and would appreciate any history.
