Can some one please help locate David Lewis, son of David & Mary Anne Lewis, on the 1861, 1891 and 1901 census from the following known details? He was born c.1844 in Llanddewi Brefi and I have him listed at home on the 1851, age 7. Whatever the reason he is not listed at home on the 1861? He is back with his widow mother on the 1871 and then located in 'Nantcwnlle' ? on the 1881.

Hello Osprey
Your entry for 1901 looks good and what is interesting David Lewis is married. He is listed as unm on the 1881 so hopefully he can be located on the 1891.
Cheers Roy

the only possible for David Lewis I can see in 1891 is boarding in Ynysybwl, enumerated as 45, married, born Llanddewi, but his occupation is labourer in Windsor pit. From weaver to labourer & back to weaver? Don't know how likely that is.

If this is our man you have done incredible well to locate him here as a labourer in Windsor colliery. It would seem by th eother census details he travelled for work, maybe he tried his hand working in the pit but it didn't suit him.
Well done and thanks
Roy

Just a thought in 1881 he was lodging in Natcwnlle with Margaret Davies; she had a daughter Mary of the same age as David Lewis. On the 1901 he is back in Nantcwnlle, married but within the household of Evan Davies. Is it possible he may have married Mary Davies ???

hmm, now there's a thought!
possible marriage reg
David Lewis dec qtr 1884 Tregaron vol 11b pg 123 with Mary Davies on the same page.
The other 2 names on the page Joseph Morgan & Margaret James could be the Joseph & Margaret Morgans in Gorwydd, Llanddewi brefi in 1894, their eldest child being 5. RG12/4564 folio 116 pg 11
Not that I can find a likely Mary Lewis in 1891 or 1901.
