Hello,
I hope I am doing this right ???
I am hoping to find the birth and parents of my 3 x Great-grandmother, Jane CRILLY.
Jane left Ireland for Australia onboard the "Emerald Isle" in 1841. Her age was given as 23. Her parents were Thomas CRILLY and Jane ALEXANDER.
Jane married Robert EVANS in 1846 at Goulburn, New South Wales. Jane died in 1880 at Goulburn.
Any information/assistance would be most appreciated.
Thank you,
Christine

Hi Christine,
Unfortunately research on Irish Ancestors that far back is extremely diifficult.
You really need to actually go to the Townland and search Parish Registers.
From Australia that is not easy.
I have a Family line from Dundalk also, and that is exactly what another Descendant did and I was very lucky to find them through the Internet.
A couple of mentions of a Thomas Crilly Snr and Jnr on here;

Go to the Homepage of the Site and work your way through everything and maybe something else will come up.
Trish :)

Other than location or parish, the most important detail you need to know before searching parish registers (or any online records) is which religion the family were. Not much point searching through Catholic records if the family were Church of Ireland..
