Can anyone tell me how I can find the death of my great grandmother Honora Morrissey? I've looked through Deaths in the BDMs of NSW and have a few choices.
She must have still been living in 1914 as she put a funeral notice in the SMH for her son-in-law.
I know at some point she lived in Jamberoo, NSW and had at least four children by the names of Johanna/Hannah/Annie born 1882 in Kiama and married Joseph Philip Ronan, Julia who married Louis Collings in 1896, Norah who married Sydney Fletcher in 1905 and Margaret/Maggie who married Thomas Donohoe in 1909.
Thanks to anyone that may be able to help.

Hi
We assume by......
I've looked through Deaths in the BDMs of NSW and have a few choices. ANITA
you do not know her parents' names. :)
Perhaps you know her birthdate or husband's name?

Hi Anita,
I can only see two Honora Morrisseys in the NSW BDMs between 1900 and 1921 (with the spelling you've given), one of whom died in 1903 and the other in 1921 - if she was still alive in 1914 then the 1921 one would be the obvious choice.
Did Honora marry? Do you have her marriage certificate?
Cheers

Hi,
From the death indexing for the married daughters, their father is listed as EDWARD.

Hi guys, yes she did marry, but I cant find a marriage for her in the BDM's. Her husbands name was Edmund/Edward Morrissey. I cant seem to find much on either of them. The change in spelling of their names is making it hard for me to decide which cert to apply for.
On their daughter Hannah's birth cert the names are Edmund and Hanora
Hannah's death cert the names are Edward and Honora.
her marriage cert gives the names Edward Morrissey and Honora Lane,
and another daughter's death cert gives the name Norah.
Thanks to you both, PrueM I think your right about the 1921 death. I'm just going to have to apply for one and see what I come up with.

Hi, got your private message, for some reason this facility wont let me reply with a personal message. I have been researching my family history for 30 years. The Morrisseys have been a bit complicated though. I descend from Edmund and Honora's eldest child Mary, who was 13 when they arrived in Sydney. Mary married a sea captain - Augustus James Hamilton Courbarron - he was the grandson of an Irish landlord...quite a story indeed. I have a photo of Mary Morrissey too. I would love to share information with you : )
