Can anyone tell me if Leigh Cemetery Burial Records are on line?
Iam looking for burial place of
Nathan Silcock ,died march 1918,Culcheth & Glazebury area.
&
Nathan Silcock,died august 1843,Culcheth
I cannot find them in the Culcheth area so i thought i would try the Leigh area as well.

Hi,
I don't think they are online but if I were you I would contact the cemetery and see if they will check the records - hopefully Leigh is one of the ones that don't charge to do a search. The only thing is you might need is an exact date of death so you may have to order the death certificates.

Might be worth joining "Leighlife " forum, you maybe luck and get someone from around the area who will visit and do your look up for you or even photograph any headstones?

Did you get anywhere with this, I am researching the Mannion Family and trying to locate graves in Leigh Cemetery, I thought the burial records may have been on-line, but they are not and it costs £13 for each search by Wigan Council.
Do you know if you can visit yourself and manually search the records?

When the Leigh Archives are open, you can arrange an appointment to view all local burial records FOC. I don't think they are indexed yet but if you know the cemetery or graveyard name and have the date of death, it's a simple grave address lookup. A pdf of burial ground plot layout can be downloaded online. Can get a bit tricky at Leigh Cemetery in that many graves have missing or otherwise absent gravestones.
Some more recent burials may not be available in this way.
EDIT Leigh Cemetery layout attached.
