Hi Roger
There are no Ringer's in HO107 1537 folio 318, unless it is a Mary Ann - writing is faded but is the only possibility, 49 year old widow with the Shelley family?
If this is the correct one let me know and will give you full details. (page 605)

Thank You Cougar for the reply. This would not be the family I am looking for. My great grandmother was 20 when she married in 1852. Her father was listed on the marriage certificate, but I guess that doesn't mean he wasn't deceased. I don't know what her mothers name was. It is possible I suppose that it was her mother.  I will have to find another avenue of searching this family out.
Thank You
Roger

Hi Roger,
What made you think they would be on that particular page of the census?
I went through it three times, but as I said, there was only the Mary Ann and the surname could have been Ringer - but was certainly not clearly so.
I will keep an eye out as have another lookup to do through a few areas of Shoreditch and let you know if I come across any.

Cougar

I gave him the ref.  In the index it says Ringer? so it wasn't clear to the indexer

Hi Sylviaann,
Thanks for that - the entry was not at all clear and think the enumerator took 'pot luck'.
Either way it wasn't the right one - but I had to go through a couple of times to find it..    As  I posted - wasn't sure - shocking copy.
Cheers Cougar

Just wanted to thanks to both Cougar and Sylviaann
for their time spent in helping me out. I am not sure where to go next. The family came from somewhere, just need to figure out where they came from. Nothing like a good challenge.
Thank you both.

Hi Roger,
Do you have a Christian name for the Ringer you are looking for - or any details?
There is a Joseph Ringer in the 1851 census who is 34, at Wandsworth, Battersea ref 1577 f 166b.   I only have a partial index but can look this one up if he belongs.
If you send the christian names we can perhaps get further.

Are you still looking for your Ringer family or have they been found in the meantime?
