WOW nothing for 5 years then 2 messages in one weekend!
Thank you both so much for the info.
amondg do you have access to the church records? Can you see if they had a child christened at the same church please?
Many thanks

Edmund Salmon (witness?) was Mary's father and I think that her mother was named Elizabeth (still need to confirm this) so the birth info provided DavidG02 isn't the correct one as my Mary was born in Wimbish c. 1807

Looked through 1834-1840 no children at Berden.
Checked Wimbish , many families baptizing children by the name of Wright but not a John and Mary.

Edmund Salmon of Debden married Elizabeth Swan 29 March 1802 Wimbish All Saints with Thunderly, by banns, witness Joseph Skinner and Sarah Cobell, except for Sarah all signed their names.

Thank you so much amondg for your time on this.
I'm trying to "track" James and Mary as they didn't seem to stay in one place very long!
Mary was born in Wimbish, James in Widdington. They get married in Berden in November 1834 but I cant see that they have any links here. They have Joseph in 1835 in Stocking Pelham (who is baptised in April and dies in June of the same year) they then have William in 1836 also in Stocking Pelham. The rest of their children (who I've managed to find so far) were all born in Widdington in 1838, 1841, 1844 and 1846.
He was a shoemaker so may have moved around with work or may have done his apprenticeship around Berden or they could they have got married away from their home towns because she was pregnant????
I try to get a feel for their lives etc rather than just names on a tree
Thank you for all the details ref. Edmund and Elizabeth Salmon as I hadn't got any confirmed details regarding them yet
Kind regards

Wright is a common name in the area.
Widdington Parish records
children of James and Hannah Wright, labourer
John bap 28 Feb 1813
JAMES bap 26 Feb 1815
George bap 1 June 1817
William bap 23 Jan 1820
Elizabeth bap 20 October 1822
Sarah bap 24 April 1825
Joseph bap 3 August 1828
Henry bap 2 January 1831
*Peter bap 1 December 1833
Harriet bap 27 May 1836.
If James 1815 is your James then Peter listed as a cousin 1851 census is actually a brother.
