There were no birth or death certs for that period - only entries in the parish register

Hi
Unfortunately these dates are before civil registration started in 1837 so the only records you will find will be parish register entries. You might find marriages and baptisms on www.familysearch.org but you are unlikely to find burials there and will need to look at the original church registers. The original registers will be held at the local record office but you may be able to access films of them at your nearest LDS family history centre. They will be listed on the website I quoted above.
Regards
Andrea

Is the surname Laidlaw or Laidlow?
From the IGI
MARGARET ANN LAIDLOW Christening: 03 SEP 1837 Stanwix, Cumberland, Father: WALTER LAIDLOW Mother: MARGARET
-
This is just a possibility - also from the IGI
THOMAS HETHERINGTON Christening: 30 SEP 1796 Stanwix, Cumberland,
Father: JOHN HETHERINGTON Mother: MARTHA BOND
-
The 1851 census again shows the surname as Laidlow - not Laidlaw and Margaret is shown as b Wetheral Cumberland 1799
IGI again - shown as christened 7.7.1799 Wetheral on the index but not on the transcription
MARGARET GRAHAM Father: THOMAS GRAHAM Mother: ELIZABETH CREIGHTON
