Where were the children born???

Have you checked the 1900 census for James and son James??

With the loarge age gap between some of the children there is also the possibility James was married twice -and both wives died???

thanks for all the information.
Been trying to find which ship he came to America on but none tie up with the dates, it looks as so he married just before he left. So I start looking for that as well

Hi Gill,

Apologises - I went back to check the 1900 Census and Mary was born May 1871 IRELAND not England and she immigrated in 1887 according to that census.

Not sure if you aware of the sites below but they give Census and some other records

Could James have had other brothers or sisters that went to the USA.  Wondering why John Wright who appears on the 1920 census was'nt with the family in 1910  ??? Was he being looked after by another relative after the death of his Mother  ???

Still can't find a marrige for James and Mary in England.
Maybe they met on the boat and married in US.
Couldn't find a boat with them both on as James and Mary Wright in 1887 or 1888

Hello Gill,

No I did'nt see anything either. We have a death record listed above for Harry Wright - Last Residence: 17061  Millersburg, Dauphin, Pennsylvania.

Dauphin have a public library with a contact us link - you could try asking about an Obituary for Harry and see if you can get any further information from that.  If they can't oblige then perhaps they can point you in a direction

Hi Gill,

We also know that Mary died between 1900 and 1910 - RAOGK have a volunteer who says "Obit lookups. Can search for obits in the Philadelphia area from the late 1700 to 1922 and from 1990 to present" - could be worth a try to see if they can find anything on Mary. (First person on list for Philadelphia)
