Hi, I thought I had found the marriage with the right names and right area but in 1921 ??? If this is them they left it a bit late.
Annie O'Connor & Joseph Roe, Salford, Lancs in Dec Q 1921 Vol 8d Pg 199

The only marriage I could find was the same one that Jool found ???
As Annie was from Ireland perhaps that is where to look next for a marriage.

Could you just clarify please...you stated
Joseph Roe to Annie O`Connor...
Joseph would have been 30 when he married Annie O` Connor...do you by any chance have Annie O`Connor in the 1881 census ?..if so how old is she ?
.the reason I am saying this is if Annie O`Connor was around 30 , it may have been a SECOND marriage and she may have married under her previous married name...hence ,,you can`t find O`Connor/ Roe marriage....
did I explain that properly ?...lol....allan

i just found that too..its the only possible one isnt it..i also got her in 1901 married to joseph roe..i wonder if they didnt marry until 1921 after all..?
-
If you fancy taking a chance, maybe you could order the 1921 marriage cert, with the condition that the father of the Groom is Peter Roe (most likely deceased). If the father turns out not to be Peter they will not send the cert and will only charge you abt £3 for the search. Someone please correct me if I am wrong :P

24 in 1881
34 in 1891
64 at marriage in 1921 ?....I would think that`s unlikely ...I know you can`t post it , but I think we need to find Joseph and Annie in 1911 census....
where are they in 1901 and 1911 ?....I have found an exact match age wise for a death for an Annie Roe ...but it`s in Bradford ??...
the other thing that is a little puzzling is William Stephen Roe...a strange selection of Christian name for Catholics don`t you think ....William was an Orange Lodge name ...not Catholic...
this is a really interesting thread ....allan ;)

In view of the guidelines - PM message sent with 1911 details
Joseph looks to have passed away in Salford in 1922.
He does state that they have been married 27 years iin 1911 - but they have had no children
-
unfortuneately my laptop crashed and i lost most of my saved files in 1901 annie and joseph had a boarding house in pendleton and 1911 moved again but dont remember the exact location..they seemed childless by then i think their son died between the 1891 and 1901 census the only death of a william stephen roe was in durham but that maybe possible? family in ireland think annie and joseph had a jewellers shop in the 1920,s we think could there be a jewish connection on josephs side as you remarked on the boys name..william is a family name i do know that throughout that particular family..thanks for your interest..lets hope i,ll get somewhere

My name is Wilhelmina Kinsella and I believe Annie Roe ne O'Connor was my Great Aunt. Danial O'Connor was my Grandfather born in Manchester in 1870 and lived in Belfast.
I have been researching my Family Tree for quite some time and would be keen to exchanage information.
My son has set up this account for me and therefore all emails will go to him in the first place, and I can then get back to you in due course.
I live in northern Ireland and believe John and Daial moved to Ireland, but I have had difficulty locating Annie and William

i believe daniel o'connor and my great grandfather john were brothers.william and ann were born in ireland, john was born in london and daniel in manchester.their father was also called john born about 1825 and according to johns marriage cert their mother was called ann cooper born about 1830.for a time when daniel lived in washington street their next door neighbour was a o'connor also french polisher.i dont know if this is another relation.ann married joseph roe and lived near stockport and william married maria dolan and lived in warrington.hope this has been some help to your search.
