Title: John Morrow - Ellen Marshall
Post by: Greb0603 on Tuesday 31 August 10 20:04 BST (UK)
Hello
I have 2 ancestors who was married to each other John Morrow b around 1843 in Ireland and Ellen Marshall who became Morrow b around 1850 in Ireland. They came up in 1891 PAISLEY CENSUS in Scotland, District number 573/1 Schedule 119. As their oldest daughter was born in England I believe they must of went to England before they settled in Scotland.

They came from Ireland but I have hit nothing dead ends in finding out what part of Ireland. I am also finding it impossible to find out when and where they died.
What part of Ireland is Morrow most common? And would I find out the information I am looking for?

Did John and Ellen have any children that were born in Scotland ?

I believe Scottish birth certs state date and place of parents marriage, which would at least give you a starting location. This could help find a marriage in England or Ireland (if after 1864) - a marriage cert would give you their father's names.

If you log-on to Scotlandspeople you can pay and download a copy of the original birth cert.

Don't take my word for this but I have been researching a Marshall family and there are loads of them in County Antrim.  My lot are from the Portglenone area.
