Hi,
I'm looking for information on the Porter family of Armidale NSW. Particularly David Porter, son of William and Sue Porter who emigrated from Ireland.
David married Annie Teege in 1896.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

David Porter, a well-known resident of Puddledock, near Armidale, was found dead in a paddock on his property this morning with a rifle beside the body. Porter, who was a prominent church worker, left a note stating that he had battled for a long time with worry, and had decided to take his life. Two years ago he lost his wife and since then had insisted on living alone. An inquest will be held on Friday

There is a NSW death in 1934 of an Annie M Porter of Armidale - parents David H & Annie C
And the marriage entry in 1896 has her name as Annie M Teege - so I'm afraid this does look like David's sad death

Armidale, Sunday - A shearer was burnt to death early today when fire destroyed his five-roomed cottage 11 miles north of Armidale. He was Henry Thomas Porter, 51, married with two children. Porter was living alone. His family is staying in Armidale. The cottage stood on his small property called Don't Worry. Porter's body was found in what had been a bedroom. Police are satisfied there are no suspicious circumstances, but they are uncertain of the cause of the fire.

I have been aware David took his own life. Very sad. Can I look up the news article?
Henry would be David's son? I'll take a look on BDM.
I'm looking also for any photos of David and information on his life. I couldn't find much on the census Ancestry.com offered.
