Thanks Charles w much better.  My mother said the just before this photo was taken her mother pulled the leg of her drawers down beneath the hem of her dress so the lace would show!

 ;D ;D ;D ;D....That's so funny...It's a very low res scan Lancsliz...although Charles has made a good job of it...you would get a much better restore and print from a scan with a resolution of 300dpi...this one is only 72 dpi and pixelates badly on enlargement with great loss of definition.

This is a photo about postcard size and I'm not too sure how to scan  at 300dpi, can you help with some tips please.

It's easy to follow and will help to guide you through to get the best quality scan from your scanner.

I cannot get it to accept my photo re-scanned not at 300 or 600 tried following instructions

You will need to change the file name..just add a number on the end and repost.

I'm sorry but I must be dense I cannot get it smaller. :'(
I have scanned it at 300 and 600 and  i keep getting the message it's too large so I am going to call it a day , for now will try again tomorrow.

I only have two of my mum when she was young and over the years it it became rather battered but all of the restorations look  good .

I miss the restores too,

My 'dial-up' was too slow to load photos, now my 'wireless' only allows 1gb a month  ::),  so I can't do many restores these days  :(
