Hi All
I have James Fenn born 22-12-1856 in Tring, Hertfordshire, baptisted 8-9-1867 Tring, Hertfordshire. Son of James Fenn and Mary ????(thought to be Budd).
What I do know for certain is he came to Australia aboard the "Ramsey" and arrived in Moreton Bay, Queensland on 29-6-1873, aged 16.
Trying to confirm parents.
Can't find him in the 1861 census but I think I found him in the 1871 census living at 17 Pittsone Street, Buckinghamshire living with Joseph and Elizabeth Jellis.
And help or suggestion most welcome.
Thankyou from an Aussie
Biddy

Hi
I have looked up the address in 1861 census there are no Fenn's living in that area. I looked up deaths
There is a Mary Fenn 3rd qtr 1858 Berkhampstead Vol 3a page 202
George samuel and James Fenn brothers I cannot find also their parents.
But maybe someone else can see them?
Just a thought his older brother did they go to austrailia and he then followed?
Just a thought
cheers cardiff ??? :)

Hi Cardiff
Thankyou very much for that information. I will search the Aussie records to see if George or Samuel came to Australia before James.
Cheers

Hi Biddy,
Mary Budd Fenn was a first cousin of my second great-grandmother, Charlotte Budd Johnson. I have been working on this family for years and do have the info on James Fenn, his parents and their children, also Mary's parents and possible Budd grandparents. Both of James' older brothers died young, George Budd in 1851 and Samuel Fenn in 1866, but he left family; two sons died but the oldest married and had children. I was unaware James had gone to Australia. Would love to trade info with you. Would you please pm me with your E-mail address. Thought I should post this first note in case other relatives come along later.
Happy researching,
Charlotte
