Hello all
I was wondering if somebody can please help me with my elusive Ebenezer Jones who had a son named William Jones born c1850 in Carnarvonshire Wales.
I have found what looks to be them on the 1851 census but am unable to view the details as I have let my subscription lapse.
I know next to nothing about Ebenezer and would love to know more.
William is shown as born 1848 and the area is Carnarvon.
Many thanks in advance

Hello Finbar
Im not sure if that is the one. I got Ebenezer Jones and William Jones from findmypast census 1851. William was aged 3years. I think Ebenezer was born 1818.

That does shed a little light on his parentage Cardiff as one of his sons was named Griffith and I found an Ebenezer Jones born in 1817 in the right area with parents Griffith Jones and Margaret.
So far I cannot find the marriage to a Griffith Jones and a Margaret but I can find two marriages around the right time but different wife's name.

The following site is well worth looking at for anything to do with Caernarfon .

1871 census gives a grandson Edward Jones ( b 1864 ) and grandaughter Elizabeth Jones ( b 1867 ).
Ebenezer and Martha still there , as are children Robert, Thomas , Margaret , Anne and Martha .

Hi, I am Colin Dugan from Australia and I had a great aunty Ellen Dugan married an Ebenezer Jones at Yankalilla in South Australia during 1877. Thomas Jones born in 1816 and his wife Janet Powell born in 1822 arrived in Australia from Monmouthshire, Wales with 3 children and continued to produce more children. Ebenezer born 1854 (obviously a junior version of your Ebenezer) was the 4th child which was the first Australian born child. I know the names of all the children and I know my relative married Ebenezer but it stops there in a dead end. Good luck,
Colin.

Hello
I don't know what I just googled but I landed on this page and saw the names of my family members! I am Ebenezer's great great grand daughter. Griffith was the only one who came to the United States as a printer's apprentice. Are you related to this group of Joneses?
This is what I found about my family when I went to the archives in Caernarfon. I found the Joneses I was looking for right before the archives closed. They lived on 17 Uxbridge St. I went to see that house but the house was no longer there because of a road. Also their printing shop had burned down. If I had had more time, I am sure I would have run into one of my relatives in the streets! (and maybe I did)
