Looking for information on the Painter family who lived in the Newburgh area before 1757 if any one can help please

The only records I could find on SP were for a marriage between Patrick (Peter?) Painter and Margaret Jackson 9 Dec 1748.  There is also a birth entry for a David Painter 11  Sep 1757 to Peter Painter and Margaret Jackson.

there is a stone in Newburgh cemetery but later dates. can post if want.

Painter  bur. 26/10/1791 chd of David Painter

George painter  2/8/1812  s/o peter painter

Catherine (alias Burt) 3/4/1833 age 68  w/o David Painter,labourer

David painter  31/12/1836 age 87

may be too late again..

Newburgh Cemetery

stone 45: (ornate marble celtic cross) Alex simpson, linen manufacturer here 14/6/1898 age 67,  wife Margaret painter 21/5/1906 age 80, son william 1/7/1944 age 83 (wife Ann walker 19/2/1941 age 67)

stone next to couple of other simpsons.
