Hi everyone
Just to let you know that Staffordshire county of FreeREG now has over 1/2 million transcribed parish records online and free to search.
We are getting more each day, but our problem is obtaining material! Especially NC records. (And unlike many counties in the UK STS ROs are very loathe indeed to allow registers to be transcribed onto FreeREG).
So if anyone knows of any fiches, or transcriptions or of any parish church or NC church, chapel etc that would be willing to allow their records to be transcribed onto FreeREg then please let me know! Doesnt matter if its in book or fiche form
FreeREG aims to get every parish register online and searchable for free. Staffordshire FreeREG has the 4th largest collection of records online in the UK, but there are thousands and thousands of records still out there!

I would just like to recommend this site to anyone who has not yet discovered it. It is making some parish records available which are not included in the IGI and I find that the information provided is more comprehensive than most of the IGI.
I have found a couple of long lost records on here and am a committed fan!
