Title: Trying to trace Elizabeth OLIVER
Post by: peteeenrobs on Saturday 21 August 10 10:45 BST (UK)
Dear Listers

I am trying to trace more about Elizabeth Oliver who was born in 1834 in Cawsand.

Believe that her father was William Oliver and he was shown as a publican (not sure whether this was a pub in Cawsand?) but I know nothing more than this.

Very grateful if anyone can help to find more about Elizabeth and her parents.

Many thanks

There was an Elizabeth Oliver born 18.5.1834 in Rame.
Parents are William Oliver and Mary Anne.

I have checked the marriages for William Oliver and found a marriage
for a William Oliver to Mary Anne Smith in Bodmin 28.10.1819.

Nothing proven but hope this helps.

Hi Listers....I'm trying to pick up the Oliver family line again after visiting Cawsand yesterday. I have searched the Census records from 1841 to 1861 and cannot find him although his wife Mary is recorded as 'pilotsman's wife' in both censuses. He returns to Cawsand with the family in 1871 and stays until his death in1882. Just curious as to whether his job took him away for long periods and what as pilotsman does? Any pointers appreciated....thank you
