Researching the history of William Griffiths, Trewern Talley.   Thomas Griffiths, Coedhirion, Talley.  David Davies, Llwyncelyn Talley, 1841 and earlier.

Hello the Griffiths' you mention are direct ancestors on my family tree I found this gravestone on the net somewhere. Don't know if it is of interest to you.

Have had difficulty making this work one headstone says

1. Here lieth the body of Thomas Griffiths, of Coedhirion, in this Parish, who died April 5th 1795, aged 49
Dyma’r man rwi nawr yn gorwedd
Hefyd bump o mhlentyn yr un bedd
Mae chwech yn fyw a ngwraig yn weddw
Boed Duw’n gadarn i’w cadw
(Stone inscription unclear – worn)

Diolch i chi, Wi'n gwybod am y garreg fedd yma ond a oes cysylltiad rhwng Thomas Griffiths a William Griffiths Trewern?  Dw i'n amau taw tad a mab dyn nhw ond does dim tystiolaeth yn dangos hynny?

Many thanks, I know of the gravestone and suspect Thomas Grifiths is the father of William Griffiths Trewern but I have no firm evidence for this.  What's your connection?

My connection to the Griffiths' comes through my grandmother who was a Griffiths and her grandfather was Daniel Griffiths the son of William Griffiths. On my tree Thomas Griffiths is shown as the father of William Griffiths  but again I cannot vouch for its accuracy and that's as far back my tree goes. Sorry about the long delay in replying.
