I need to look up several things in the Dudley parish records, so a trip to the records office seems the only option... or is it?
Does any one know if buying a subscription to : The Genealogist: Parish Records
Would be worthwhile?
Yvette :)

You could always post a thread here on the relevant board asking if someone is going there and if they wouldn't mind checking a few things for you. Of course you might have to wait a while until someone goes if they even do.

Hi
thank you for reply,
I've asked if anyone can do a look up for me but
nothing came of it.
To be honest I'm a little impatient that's all ;D

Before you subscribe to any genealogy site, you should make sure that their records cover what you want. The Genealogist only seems to cover Dudley St. Thomas Baptisms for 1823. You can see a full list of what The Genealogist covers here (http://www.thegenealogist.co.uk/nameindex/ai_content.php#Parish_Records_(Transcripts)) - but be aware that they have different subs which cover different things.
If your offers for help from people here fall through, you may also want to consider purchasing parish records on CD (when available) if you have a lot of lookups to do.

Thank you for your reply,
researching your family tree can be an expensive hobby :)
